ENGLISH: The English rain can end up being sudden and intense. That is the origin of this song, which evokes this climatic phenomenon as a metaphor that summarizes my time living in the north of England between the years 2014 and 2015. In this song, the rain appears as a catharsis resulting from the challenges faced when living abroad, in a foreign world. The starting point of its message is nothing but the almost quotidian situation of facing a pouring rain without the necessary means to protect oneself, when getting back home after some hours studying at the uni, in days that usually appeared to be sunny and summery.
With an authentic and raw sound that reminds to classics such as the Creedence Clearwater Revival in the peak of its muddy live show, The Rain was live recorded at Estudios Reno and retouched at El Invernadero. Its energetic riff, its refined psychedelic choirs and its solos (Hammond by Sergio Valdehíta and electric guitar by Moses Rubin), give the song a unique character difficult to found these days. Moreover, the last one and a half minute is the result of an improvisation carried out at the studio and an attentive listener will be able to distinguish the musician's voices celebrating the tremendous ending of the song.
lyrics
THE RAIN
I did choose and nearly loose
But I rather changed my hue
To the drenching grey skies and the puddle zoo
Such a northern point of view
With the rain
Days were gone behind a bar
Always someone bossing around
Often watching ladies as they sipped their wine
While I felt like nothing there was mine
But the rain
Loosing time and loosing touch
Expectations, frozen bows
People asking questions ‘bout a changing smell
While the freedom potion kindly fell
It's the rain
The rain, yeah
The rain
Nothing changes, nothing lasts
Such a parenthetical past
Often jumping fences, never yielding at
Some offences that may be washed
By the rain
The rain, yeah
The rain

Moses Rubin is born from the northern winds that have brought me back to my homeland carrying a rucksack full of songs, experiences, eagerness and the necessity of going it alone in what is my first adventure as a solo artist.
