about

lyrics

The Intermediate

Day’s getting grey, queues at the bus stops
At the Corn Exchange, bulldog’s in the back door
Kirkgate Market slowly closes down
Ceasing hustle, vans and dancers intermingle
It’s time to scape from town

And you don’t know where’re all the people gone
Nothing happens there till eight o’clock

Now Vicar Lane looks quite deserted
But Yorkshire evening light keeps me awaken
Bricks reflecting sunset through the mist
Cornucopia’s rainbow is shining, we’re deciding
What we’re going to eat

After our shift, starting at seven
Already had our coffee at Hepworth’s together
An old lady is at the amusements doors
With her trolley, seeking for redemption at the bottom of her purse

Trees upon the hills, dusk in the outskirts
Visions of the wind, rocking your laughter
The alleyway towards the factory
Brings a smell that wriggles after
The intermediate time has bared the street
And it’s time to leave…
To leave the world behind

Moses Rubin Leeds, UK

Moses Rubin is born from the northern winds that have brought me back to my homeland carrying a rucksack full of songs, experiences, eagerness and the necessity of going it alone in what is my first adventure as a solo artist.
